About the Conference

Globally, climate change profoundly affects agriculture, posing unique challenges for countries like India with a large population heavily dependent on farming. India’s agricultural vulnerability is heightened due to rainfed areas, limited irrigation and a 0.6°C temperature increase over the past century, amplifying threats to food security. Certain Indian regions already exhibit signs of rising temperatures, water stress and reduced rainy days impacting wheat and paddy output. Unmitigated, long-term climate change poses a severe threat to the livelihood security of the poor. Urgent measures are necessary to address these challenges, particularly for vulnerable small and marginal farmers lacking resources. Safeguarding marginalized individuals in India entails adopting climatesmart farming techniques, modernized technology, weather-based crop insurance and fostering convergence in financial resources and technical knowledge.

In response to these pressing issues, Mother Terasa College of Agriculture (MTCA) is organizing an ‘International Conference on Modernized Technology for Climate Change in Agriculture’ (ICMTCA) on April 26, 2024. This event aims to facilitate discussions among eminent researchers, scientists, practitioners and academics on the latest techniques, initiatives and regulations related to climate change adaptation in agriculture. The conference will delve into the challenges faced by small and marginal farmers and propose remedies, fostering networking and publishing opportunities. Contributions, including case studies, success stories, review papers, and working papers aligned with the conference themes, are welcome
