Food Processing Unit

The Food Processing Unit serves as a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to training, research and product development in the field of food technology. The unit equipped with modern machinery for processing cereals, fruits and vegetables, dairy, bakery and value-added products, the unit provides students with hands-on exposure to industrial scale operations. It functions as a bridge between classroom learning and real world food manufacturing practices, enabling students to understand processing techniques, quality control measures, hygiene standards and packaging requirements. It encourages innovation and entrepreneurship by allowing students to develop and test new food products, conduct shelf life studies and explore market-ready formulations. The unit also supports academic activities by facilitating practical sessions, demonstrations and pilot scale production trials of processing fruit jam, jelly, squash, RTS (Ready-to-serve), candied fruits, pickles, fruit bar, sauce, ketchup etc.
